Like many people, I was disappointed with Novell's choice to purchase and support Linux, yet not implement a solution for Single Sign-On for Bordermanger.  So I programmed the solution myself as cl4others.  This program is being used at many schools and businesses as well as internally at Novell.  (At the time I wrote this program Novell had no intentions of making Client Trust work with Linux.  They have since written there own version but it does not support the open source client NCPFS)

While using Novell's ZENworks for Desktops, Preboot Services I felt something was missing.  You have a wonderful imaging service and a great directory service but no easy way to select custom images on the fly from the station to be images.  I created an add-on for img that interfaces to NDS and e-Directory through LDAP to call custom scripted workstation image objects.   This program as even made its way to being highlighted by Novell Technical Services back in May 2005 (Look under Bonus Utilities).  Is has all so been noted on ndsEngineers.com.

ZENworks Add-on Images
While Novell notes "add-on" images as a great feature in ZENworks Preboot Services no one had good instructions on how to use it in combination with Microsofts SYSPREP to reduce the number of images and workstation configurations required by organizations.  By following my instructions in combination with limg you can create a fast and simple way to dramatically reduce the storage requirements and maintenance of you images.  (And as an added hint check out Microsoft's Software Update Service [SUS])
